Six forged certificates to secure job

"Times of India", India on 12th January 2012: Bosch India on Tuesday lodged a complaint with the Satpur police against six trainees working in the company for producing forged certificates to get a job. As per the police complaint, Samir Bramhankar, resident of Dindori Road, Panchavati; Shaikh Afroz Sattar, resident of Datta Chowk, Nashik; Rahul Pawar, resident of Satana, Nashik; Prashant Pawar, resident of Satana; Mahesh Ahire of Nashik Road; and Ravindrakumar Shinde of Panchavati had produced fake certificates of different technical trades to get employment in the company. All the six trainees worked in the company from March 3, 2010 to September 15, 2011 and got a job by producing forged certificates, the police complaint said.

Students forge certificates to qualify for admission in college

"observer.org.sz", Swaziland on 24th August 2011 : Two students who forged certificates to qualify for enrolment at Ngwane Teacher’s College were sentenced to two years in jail or with an option of fine of E2000. Mbongeni Paul Thwala (33) of Ndzingeni and Nhlanhla Mfanizile Magagula (32) of Khuphuka appeared before Magistrate Musa Nxumalo for forgery and fraud. The two committed the offence on July 30. They allegedly forged an instrument in writing an ordinary level certificate which they produced to the college as a valid one issued by the Exams Council of Swaziland. They were further charged for fooling college Principal Dr Amos Mahlalela into admitting them. The two pleaded guilty and conducted their own defence. Prosecutor Fana Bhembe accepted the plea.

"dailymirror.lk", Sri Lanka on 29th July 2011 : The CID requested Moratuwa Chief Magistrate Namal Balalle to remand Shalika Pathirana of Gampaha on the charge of forgery until August 6. It was alleged that the suspect had produced several forged certificates as reference letters while another certificate from the Indira Gandhi University was still being investigated for its authenticity. The suspect was alleged to have produced these certificates in order to get a post as a Lecturer at the Sir John Kotalawela Defence Academy.

Deputy Commissioner holds fake credentials

“informante.web.na”, Namibia on 28th April 2011 : Deputy Commissioner of Prisons, Tuhafeni Hangula is allegedly in possession of forged Grade 12 certificates with which he applied for his job despite being ineligible for appointment in the Public Service post, which requires a Grade 12 or equivalent qualification. One of the certificates, effective from 1 December 1990, in which he allegedly obtained an E symbol in Accounting and F symbols in Afrikaans, English, Business Economics and Typing on standard grade, does not have the signatures from the relevant Education authorities at the time. Another, with the same results, with a stamp dated 6 May 1993, has signatures scanned, with the Examination officer’s visible as LB Koopman.

Railway employee forges documents to get job in Sports Institute

“NDTV”, India on 26th April 2011 : Sportsmen are said to be fighters. But proving this wrong, Chunnilal Gupta (35), a Central Railway (CR) employee, allegedly forged dozens of certificates and collected numerous counterfeit medals, in order to gain entry into a training programme to become a coach, at the Netaji Subhash National Institute of Sports (NSNIS) in Patiala. An RTI investigation on the matter is underway. On April 6, 2011, a close colleague of Gupta, who has requested anonymity, registered a complaint with the divisional sports officer, CR. A copy of this complaint has been obtained by MiD DAY. According to the complaint, Gupta submitted false certificates for gaining admission at NSNIS, forging all the documents necessary.

According to the Birmingham News Room dated 18 Aug 2010, David Lee Fox has been found guilty at Birmingham Crown Court for running a company “Business Digest UK”, which advertised a variety of fake exam certificates ranging from Intermediate to Masters degrees from Oxford University

According to the DNA News dated 14 Aug 2010, the anti-corruption bureau of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) booked three officials of the customs department, DR Verma, Dawa Injung and Suresh Shetty for submitting forged and fake certificates to the bank.
