"timesofindia.com", India on 21st November 2011: A quack has been arrested in Panch Pipala village of Jetpur taluka. Police identified the accused as Shashikant Agrawat, 21, a resident of Navagadh. "Our investigation found that Agrawat just had a certificate of primary health worker, yet he flaunted a fake master degree on his notice board to attract patients.

Supects denied bail in fake matric certificates scam

"sabc.co.za", South Africa on 25th November 2011: Two Nigerian nationals arrested last week for producing fake matric certificates have been found to be illegal immigrants. The pair appeared in the Johannesburg Commercial Crimes Court today. Mike Mabi and Charles Giwa were arrested after an SABC exposé last week. They were denied bail. Leg chains, the pair looks strained. The men are understood to be the masterminds of a scam.

Fake marks cards racket busted

"ibnlive.in.com", India on 23rd November 2011 : Cubbon Park police have arrested a man on charges of selling fake marks cards of various universities at exorbitant rates. The accused is identified as Someshwar Dekka (32) of Assam, residing at Sanjaynagar in the city. According to police, they had received a tip off about the racket and sketched a plan to catch the men behind it. Posing as prospective buyers, the police approached the accused requesting him to create a fake marks card and as he readily agreed for it, the police caught him red handed. “He is a school drop out and had come to the city in search of a job a few years ago. He had joined a HR consultancy firm, where he came in contact with Sudheer Rai, the main accused and Amith Kumar. The trio started creating fake marks cards of universities in Assam, Jharkhand and other states. Also, they sold marks cards of technical courses in VTU,” the police explained.

"hindustantimes.com", India on 22nd November 2011 : The Delhi Police have arrested another pilot who allegedly furnished fake marksheets to procure a commercial pilot licence (CPL). With this, the total number of pilots arrested in the scam has reached 24. Anirudh Kiran Deshpande, 23, was arrested from his house in south Delhi’s Vasant Kunj following action into a complaint lodged by the chief vigilance officer at the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), said police. Ashok Chand, DCP (crime) said Deshpande used forged marksheets to convert his Philippines CPL into Indian CPL.

A team of police personnel from Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today nabbed Achyut Neupane (48) of Nagre-7, Sindhupalchok, and Binod Koirala (38) of Chauripokhari-5, Kavrepalanchowk, along with fake certificates, marksheets, citizenship certificates, letterpads, stamps, holograms of various government and non-govrnment organisations from their possession.

The arrested were identified as Aadi Ramesh, 34, of Bibipet village in Domakonda mandal, who worked as conductor at Nizamabad-1 depot, Jangam Raja Goud, 38, of Tuljapur, Domala Siddi Ramulu, 34, of Bibipet, Jorrigala Shiva Prasad, 32, of Domakonda, Wadnala Raju, 24, of Bibipet, Mogili Rama-krishna, 35, of Konapur and Diddi Ramesh Babu, 29.

Satish Halyalkar, 43, a resident of BG Road, Akshaynagar, Begur is the arrested. According to the Baiyappanahalli police, he also claimed to be a journalist and President of Karnataka chapter of All India Human Rights, Freedom and Social Justice Commission, said the police.

Criminal proceedings against 22 parliamentarians in fake degree case

“brecorder.com”, Pakistan on 16th November 2011 : The District Policer Officer (DPOs) have initiated criminal proceedings against 22 former and in-service parliamentarians in fake degree cases sent by Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). According to an official of ECP, an First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against nine parliamentarians. However, no arrest has so far been made in this regard. The parliamentarians against whom cases have been registered by the DPOs included Independent Candidates Zahoor Hussain Khosa and Sardar Ali, Pakistan Muslim League-Q’s Yar Muhammad Rind and Shaukat Aziz Bhatti, Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarian’s Ali Madad Jaddak and Amir Yar Warn and Pakistan Muslim League-N’s Haji Nasir Mehmood, Muhammad Rizwan Gill and Nasim Nasir Khawaja.

"hindustantimes.com", India on 16th November 2011 : The Delhi police have registered one more FIR against a student of Ramjas College in their ongoing investigation into fake marksheet scam. The FIR, the seventh in the scam, was registered against a B.Com. first year student at Maurice Nagar police station. According to the FIR, Harshpreet Arora – a Rohini resident – had obtained admission in the college by submitting fake marksheet and forged provisional certificate.

Authorities uncover fake diploma syndicate

"thejakartapost.com", Indonesia on 10th November 2011 : Authorities in North Sumatra have uncovered a fake diploma syndicate operating in higher learning institutes in the province following the disclosure of a fake diploma used by a son of the Langkat vice regent to become a civil servant. The Langkat vice regent’s son, identified by the initials H.P., is currently at risk of being dismissed as a civil servant because he was proven to have used a fake diploma when applying for work. The Langkat Information and Communications Office head Syahrizal said the Langkat regency administration had reported the matter to the provincial civil servants’ board, recommending H.P. be dismissed because of his misconduct. “When we checked with the university that issued H.P.’s diploma, it turned out to be false. We have proposed that H.P. be dismissed,” Syahrizal told The Jakarta Post on Wednesday.

But the 43-year-old techie’s flourishing business was busted by the Jeevan Bhima Nagar police for allegedly issuing a fake experience certificate to a BE graduate who recently joined MphasiS, an IT company, located in Bagmane Tech Park.

Fake law degree certificates racket busted

"thehindu.com", India on 13th November 2011 : A major racket of fake law degree certificates of Allahabad University running for the past 10 years came to light recently and the CID sleuths arrested two key persons on Saturday. CID Deputy Superintendent of Police Aari Rajendra Babu said that interrogation of these accused could lead to arrest of people who scaled high positions based on these certificates. Based on a complaint from a lawyer, P. Nagesh Kumar, Kondeti Raju, a practising lawyer, was arrested on October 29 and on his revelations, the two accused were arrested.
