Students forge certificates to qualify for admission in college
"observer.org.sz", Swaziland on 24th August 2011 : Two students who forged certificates to qualify for enrolment at Ngwane Teacher’s College were sentenced to two years in jail or with an option of fine of E2000. Mbongeni Paul Thwala (33) of Ndzingeni and Nhlanhla Mfanizile Magagula (32) of Khuphuka appeared before Magistrate Musa Nxumalo for forgery and fraud. The two committed the offence on July 30. They allegedly forged an instrument in writing an ordinary level certificate which they produced to the college as a valid one issued by the Exams Council of Swaziland. They were further charged for fooling college Principal Dr Amos Mahlalela into admitting them. The two pleaded guilty and conducted their own defence. Prosecutor Fana Bhembe accepted the plea.
