"indiatoday.intoday.in", India on 23rd July 2011 : It is never too late to start again – especially in crime. A 90-year-old man, undeterred by a jail sentence, has churned out fake medical degrees in near-industrial quantities becoming, arguably, the single biggest operator of his kind in the country. Medical authorities and the government have put Balwant Rai Arora under the scanner for allegedly producing at least 50,000 fake doctors in Delhi and the NCR over the last 15 years – since 1995, when he began his racket. All these 'degrees' have been given by the so-called Delhi Medical College, a fake institute which he runs from his home in Vipin Garden in the Uttam Nagar area of west Delhi.

"miaminewtimes.com", USA on 28th July 2011 : Rashaad Easterling was shooting hoops in the gymnasium at Goulds Park when a looming, sharply dressed man with a long scar under his left eye jogged over to him. "Come to my school," he told the 17-year-old matter-of-factly, referring to Choice Preparatory School, the outfit in a corner of the tiny park building. He promised Rashaad that after a stint at his private school, the kid could get a sports scholarship to any top college he wanted. The man, Antron Wright, then made the same pitch to Rashaad's bone-thin mom, Roslyn, who lives in the projects across the street from the gym. He told her he'd get Rashaad a McKay Scholarship – a state-funded tuition voucher for students with disabilities – despite the fact that the kid, who earned good grades at Miami Southridge Senior High, didn't have a disability.

"The Times of India", India on 26th July 2011 : A security guard at Mira Bhayander Municipal Corporation (MBMC) got an extraordinary promotion earlier this year and was made the civic body’s Public Relation Officer (PRO). Sachin Chavathe’s credentials, a diploma certificate in journalism from Patna University, were pretty much in place but for two things: the university doesn’t offer any such course and Chavathe never studied there. As it turned out, Chavathe, who was a Std XII pass-out in Marathi medium, had forged his documents. Thane Sessions Court has now ordered the Bhayander police to register a case against the fraud and four senior MBMC officials, including the civic body’s former Commissioner. No arrests have been made so far.

However, they are accused of putting up big boards outside their clinics, which were successful practices……S.
