Registrar since three years, posses fake degrees
“Indian Express”, India on 04th January 2010 : Even as the Saurashtra University Syndicate and Senate are yet to decide the fate of registrar Gajendra Jani on January 15, an inquiry committee appointed by the Governor has underlined that Jani was not qualified for the job. After doubts were raised about Jani’s academic qualifications and experience, and the alleged irregularities in his appointment, Governor Dr Kamla Beniwal had instituted a three-member committee, comprising former Gujarat High Court Judge L A Pathan, former additional secretary J D Mahida and UGC under-secretary Narayan Singh. According to the committee report, Jani, who has been holding the post of registrar for three years now, does not fulfil the required academic qualification, and is also short of experience to be a university registrar. Jani was recruited on May 3, 2007.
