LONDON, UK: According to the Peterborough Today dated 28 July 2010, Lavinia Olmazu, 31, a north east London campaigner for Roma gypsies’ rights has pleaded guilty to taking part in a £2.9 million ($4537051.44) benefits fraud. Olmazu conspired with others to supply fraudulent documents including invoices, letters proving residence or letters of recommendation to be used in the commission of fraud. The prosecution also outlined the use of false employment documentation to support applications by individuals for National Insurance numbers to obtain different forms of State benefits.
