Gujranwala, Pakistan: According to the Dawn News dated 19 June 2010, a five-day-old baby who was suffering from fever died in Gujranwala shortly after being administered an injection at a ‘clinic’ run by a man with no medical qualifications. In another incident in Gujranwala a woman died during delivery at the pseudo-clinic of a fake lady doctor. According to the Pakistan Medical Association, over 600,000 “quacks” (bogus doctors) operate across the country.
