India: 11 arrested by CID for bogus certificates

RAJKOT, India: According to The Times of India dated 5 June 2010, eleven people were arrested by Crime Investigation Department (CID) in connection with the Bhuj wholesale market land scam. After the 2001 earthquake Bhuj wholesale market was reconstructed and land was distributed to traders, many of whom produced bogus certificates to take possession of land. People arrested were Kirit Shah, Manoj Shah, Nitin Vora, Anil Vora, Mahendrakumar Shah, Hasmukh Thakkar, Dhansukh Mehta, Jayanti Dal, Himanshu Thakkar, Amit Varaiya and AG Mori, who issued bogus certificates as ward officers.
